Just something I scribbled in my sketchbook at the restaurant before going to see Dark Knight. (Which I didn't much like, to be honest) The Joker's definitely the greatest Batman villain, if not the greatest comic book villain of all time. :3 The cartoon version voiced by Mark Hamill is still my favorite.
Pencil and White colored pencil on brown paper. Approx 15 min.
Oh definitely Mark Hamhill's always my Joker...but I liked TDK version a lot too X3;
Is your sketchbook all with brown paper like this? I always love that effect with colored paper and white pencil! It takes people's sketches to a completely different level, as is seen here . I think you really captured the Joker in your own style perfectly, that sinister grin with the kind of nasty teeth is just perfect!
It's a little mini-sketchbook I carry around in my purse when I don't have the space to carry my normal computer-paper sketchbook. I just got it recently, so I haven't used it much, but I've always liked the idea of starting with a grey/brown paper to use white on. (That one brown-paper sketch they sell for $20 at Ex Libris is a joke. I got this in the bargain section of Borders for $2.)
I looooove this expression. You really know how to put life into your drawings. Any version of the Joker is my favorite for his maniacal craziness is absolute, love. This is an instant fave!
Yes! I agree. Mark Hamill Joker is my favorite as well. He's got the right mixture of fun and evil. I was watching an episode of the Batman animated series yesterday that featured the Joker and I remembered why he was so awesome.
The white conte/charcoal works so well with this drawing. Of course it's the joker and he just has to have that white face anyway. I really love his maniacal expression as well.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
