EDIT: Updated it so that it starts off muted. :3 That way you don't have to frantically search for the volume button, lol.

Ohmigash, you guys. It's done. This picture's been sitting on my computer for AGES. I finished all the artwork waaaaaaay back in October, but couldn't bring myself to undertake the effort to add in the last bit of coding to make it interactive. Well, I finally just sat down and did it, haha.

This picture is actually really nostalgic for me. It's a scene that was in a comic I drew on notebook paper waaay back in elementary school. In it, Will and Fiona have to go and save their cow friend Flana (ugh that name lol), who's sleepwalked into an abandoned meat processing plant that isn't entirely abandoned. When I get the chance, I really ought to scan it. It's a hoot. XD

In case it isn't obvious, you can click the lever. XD I originally planned to have more things animated, like the hooks in the ceiling and the conveyor belt, but I think that would've been a bit excessive.

Um hey I love this animation it's pretty awesome :D I actually love all of them, but I was wondering if you could tell me, exactly how do you animate stuff? I know I sound like the biggest idiot you've ever witnessed but I just wanted to know :meow:

Btw the animation and art is very lovely! :w00t:

I'm not entirely sure what you want to know about how I animated stuff. XD I mean, are we talking from a "I don't even know Flash" beginning? Because that would probably be a LOT to explain. XD They make whole books on the subject.

But if you mean how each piece is animated separately, I have each item as its own Movie Clip symbol so that they move on their own timelines. That way all the things are staggered and don't happen with the same exact timings for each.

Yeah yeah that's what I meant. :D I know about flash I was just wondering if that's what you used. :) Thx for clarifying that your animation is really amazing I was just so curious as to how you got it done :iconnyaplz:

This idea originally came to you in elementary school? Geez, this is creepy stuff! XD Even without the blood stains and puddles, the dark, decrepit atmosphere and the "mysterious" machinery are enough to send shivers down my spine.

But anyway, nicely done! It has so many details, and the fact that you can turn off the machine actually adds to the suspense and skin-crawling-ness. The two characters watch as an unseen hand flips the switch. (Dun dun duuun.) Awesome work. I'll try not to have nightmares.

Haha, my elementary school version is about as dark, though in a bit of a sillier way. It had machines that were labeled "Kill o matic" or something like that with an "AAH HELP ME" speech bubble coming out of it. XDD

Wow. This is fantastic. It reminds me of those terrible point and click games where people take photos and put them through filters to make them look creepy and then add elements to click on... except that this isn't terrible! That's not what I meant! I just meant that it's interactive art aaaaaa *runs away before she digs herself into a deeper hole*

You should try making one of those point and click adventure games like Machinarium or Samarost, I can totally see this as being one of those mystery horror games!

Are you venturing into the horror genre? That was unexpected, but it looks very good.

That broken down facality makes a very good atmosphere.

Wow, I really love this. It's so creepy and ominous, with the flickering flashlight, the meat grinder's whir, and the dripping blood and meat hooks. You just want to run out of there. :iconbigheartplz:

I just love the atmosphere of this. Even without the dripping blood and the meat grinder, there's such an eerie since of foreboding. Even the little details, like the textures on the floor and the machine and the tilt of the exit sign really add to that feeling. The flickering of the flashlight is a nice touch too. It makes me feel like, if it goes out they'll be in trouble. (Though it may be too late to say they aren't in trouble already.)

With these animations you've done there's always a compelling mood about them, and I really look forward to seeing more.
