PAWN'D!!
Woohoo, that was a fun pic to draw, but it sure did take a long time. I spent nearly a day agonizing over what colors to use. XD I refused to simply use black and white for a chess-themed pic. Plus, I had the hardest time coming up with a bg.
Hooray for chess pictures. They're enormously fun to try and integrate those simple shapes and symbols into actual characters and the like, though I'm only mediocre at the actual game. If you can't figure out which pieces they are (and I hope you can): Paul is the king in the throne, Drake (with the sword) is a pawn, Rantz is the rook, and Arak is a bishop (haha, Arak a bishop!). I wanted to try and fit more characters into this pic, but I only managed to fit four. Funnily enough, each character is in almost the exact same composition as my "... And a bottle o' rum." image: [link] . XDDDD
Speaking of, this pic is for my sketchbook cover, to replace the sketchbook that had "... And a bottle o' rum" as its cover. As I've mentioned before, I get a nice cover printed out at Kinko's on cardstock, then have them bind the cover and a nice chunk of computer paper into a spiral-bound sketchbook, with a clear plastic cover for protection. It's great because it's my custom sketchbook, complete with the exact type of paper I want, and it's cheap, under 8 bucks. <3
Checkmate, mate.
