Yeah, a couple weeks late by now, but I figure my journal hasn't been updated for a while now.
Archer was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Animated Program category! Woo, I work on an Emmy-nominated show! 8D Which, I suppose is better than a few months ago, when I worked on a show that couldn't crack 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. XD (Though, on the other hand, I was lead animator on Chozen, and am currently just an illustrator on Archer. Ah wells.)
Also this week, I'm getting some in-depth learning time with Toonboom Harmony, which is aaaaawesome. (Both the program and getting a break from Archer illustration) It's kind of insane the level of animation that can be accomplished in that program, and at the same time, it's an ENORMOUS learning curve. Like, my coworker who's teaching us Harmony had to get flown out to Canada to attend a seminar taught by the creators of the program, just to learn how to use the program! XD It's a very technical-minded system, and not that much crossover between it and Adobe products.
Not much else to report! I'm not going to be attending Comic Con this year (shame, because it's the first year in three years that Neo's actually going to be there!
), but I -will- be going to DragonCon. Would also like to make some sort of casual cosplay, but we'll see if I can scrape up some time from somewhere, between commissions and Vampire Bites and Archer production ramping up.
